How we share
Our simple rules
Short, and none of them are complicated.
1. Who the library is for
The library is for children who live at Mana Jardin Apartment — whether your family owns your flat or rents it.
2. Books are for everyone
Look after the books so the next reader can enjoy them too. Every book on our shelves is waiting for somebody else after you.
3. Any book, any reader
Some books say what age they were written for. That is only a suggestion to help you choose. You may borrow any book in the library, whatever your age — read ahead, or go back to an old favourite. Nobody will stop you.
4. Browse first, borrow through the librarian
Come and look at the shelves whenever you like, and read here in the library room. Books stay in the library room until the librarian hands one over. Come at one of the visiting times shown on your own page to collect a book or bring one back.
5. 2 books at a time
You can have 2 books at home at once. Bring one back and you can choose another straight away.
6. Keep a book for 14 days
That is how long a book is yours for. The date is on your own books page, so you never have to remember it.
7. Need more time?
Still reading? Ask the librarian to keep it longer — once, for another 14 days. They will let you know.
8. Take care of the books
Keep them clean, dry and safe. Please do not write in them, draw in them or tear the pages. If something happens to a book, just tell the librarian — accidents are part of reading, and nobody will be cross.
9. Sharing is a choice
Giving a book to the library is completely up to you. Nobody needs to give anything to be a member, and joining is always free.
10. Be kind
The library is a shared space. Please be gentle with the books, the room and everyone else reading in it.
11. Bring books back to the librarian
Hand a book back to the librarian rather than putting it on a shelf yourself, so the library always knows where everything is.
12. Where the library is, and when
Our shelves live at Yoga Room, Mana Jardin Apartment. Please come to the Yoga Room at one of the times shown on your own page to collect a book or bring one back. Please follow the usual house rules of the building while you are there — it is everybody’s room, and the library is a guest in it.
If a book is late, we will send a friendly reminder to your family. If you need longer, or if something has happened to a book, please come and tell the librarian — it is always easier to sort out early, and nobody will be cross with you.
