About your child

Our library is for readers aged 5 to 16. We do not need their full date of birth.

Completely optional — an avatar works just as well. A photo stays inside the library: the librarian and your child can see it, and it may appear beside your child’s first name on the readers’ card that other members see when they sign in. It never leaves the library, is never used for advertising, and you can ask us to remove it — or to leave your child off that card — at any time.

JPG, PNG or WebP, between 100 KB and 500 KB. Large photos are made smaller on your phone before they are sent, and we will tell you the size as soon as you choose one.

About you

We need one guardian we can contact. Your email is where we send the link to set up the account, and how we help if the password is ever forgotten.

Parent or guardian confirmation

Because this account is for a child, we need a parent or guardian to agree. You can read exactly what you are agreeing to, and you can change your mind at any time — just tell the librarian.

Our promises

  • Joining is free. There is no membership fee and no borrowing fee.
  • Donating books is completely voluntary. It is never a condition of joining or borrowing.
  • We ask for as little as we can, and we never show one family’s details to another.
  • Nobody at the library can see your child’s password — not even the librarian.
